Frequently Asked Questions

Health or Environment Concerns
Usually the materials we use do not affect those with allergies; once our materials dry you should not experience any effects from them.
At Triangle Pest Control, we use quite a few different products, so the answer is yes and no.

If used correctly, the chemicals we use inside of your home will have no odor. The chemical is microencapsulated, so it does not give off any offensive smells. If you or a family member are sensitive to pesticides then it would be best to stay in a different room while the treatment dries (usually 1 hour).

This same treatment will not stain your walls or floors any more than water. Some of the baits and granular treatments may have an odor. The mouse/insect sticky packs used in the garage have a slight peanut butter odor, but they are pesticide free.

For the exterior of your house we use a power sprayer and a very effective pesticide. This does have a slight odor, but it dries quickly and the smell dissipates.
This is a tough question. Our materials are environmentally friendly so long as they are applied properly.

We also offer botanical treatments for those customers who only want to use natural chemicals for pest control.
Our company uses an IPM approach to pest management. This means that we focus on the SOURCE of your problem and only use chemicals as a last resort.

Our materials are very effective for insects and usually do not present any danger for your pets or children once they dry.
Our Service
No. In fact, in some cases they can actually make the problem worse.

We use chemicals that are regulated by the NC Department of Agriculture, and as such are meant for use by state licensed professionals.

The chemicals we use have a longer residual life and are meant to be used in strict accordance to their label directions. An individual can get good results from treating the home as a do-it-yourselfer, but it will take consistent effort. Most of our customers prefer to leave the pesticide spraying up to the professionals.
Not usually. Current pesticides have a relatively short residual life that needs to be reapplied about every 60 days to be continuously effective.

If we treated your home once, you will probably see pests again in a couple of months.

Our job is to create a barrier around your home and maintain that for you. Just like weeding a garden, or cleaning your house, it's on-going maintenance.
No pest control company can prevent your from EVER seeing a pest in your home. We cannot guarantee bugs from flying into your house from the neighbors property or riding in on a bag of groceries.

What CAN PROMISE you free reservices if a problem arises. Just call us anytime and we'll be out by the next business day.
Absolutely, if you want to stay pest-free. Winter time is when the hidden pests come into your home for safe harborage. These include: mice, rats (less common), clothes moths, pantry pests, spiders, and more.

Keeping your barrier maintained during the winter months also is important to the early hatchlings that will try to migrate into your house. As long as the barrier is activated, they will be killed while crawling over it.
The initial treatment of our Service Plan is meant to flush all the insects out from inside your home.

During this treatment your technician will treat both inside and out.

The treatment includes spot treating with a B&G sprayer, laying down baits under sinks and in other target areas, taking down webbing, put mouse packs in the attic when needed, treating under appliances, around entrypoints to the home, and any other services your technician deems necessary.

After your initial service your technician will focus on reactivating the exterior barrier of the home. We feel this method most effectively controls pest populations, while minimizing the use of pesticides inside the home.

If you need service on the interior of the home, please let us know and we'll be happy to take care of any problem.
Our Service Plan is backed by our guarantee that your home is pest-free or else we will retreat your home for free until the problem is solved.
This is where our service really stands out.

We do what we call and initial service for each pest control account. Basically on this service we "clean out" the interior of your home to remove insect harborages and we also treat the exterior of your home to prevent insects from coming back.

As an added benefit to our customers, we also "web" your house. This is where we will remove all reachable spider webs from your home.
Generally speaking, pest control is considered normal "home maintenance".

Pests can damage your property and present a significant health risk to you and your family.

Our service protects your family from insect related health issues and prevents pests from damaging your home.
We have many service options based on your needs. We offer:
  • Monthly Services
  • Bi-Monthly Services
  • Quarterly Services
  • One-time Services
You do not have to leave your home while we treat. In fact, most of our customers are home during our treatments.
If it is an emergency we can have someone out to your home the same day.

In most cases we can have someone out the very next business day.

Yes! We know that you are busy during the week so we work on Saturdays to offer flexible scheduling for you. We do NOT work on Sundays.
Termites
Yes we do. In fact, we employ North Carolina State Accredited Termite Inspectors and we can usually turn these letters around within 24 hours.

You can request an "clearance Letter (WDIR)" online as well.
Usually, during "swarming" season you will see winged insects inside your home.

You may also notice some mud tubes inside or outside of your home.
In most cases you can tell this by looking at the wings and the body of the insect.

If the body is not segmented and the wings are the same length then you probably have a termite.

Of course, the best option is to have a professional determine if you have termites.
Absolutely not. Usually there are many variables such as type of chemical used, treatment areas and treatment execution.

You need to be careful and try to make sure that the quotes that you are getting are apples to apples.
We offer re-treatment guarantees; however, we do not offer "damage bonds".

Our company's policy is to treat our customer the way that we would like to be treated. Frequently with termite bonds companies will not have to pay unless certain conditions are met. Usually this leads to an upset homeowner that must pay for the termite damage even though he or she has a bond.

We believe that being honest upfront is the best long-term policy for our customers.
Currently, we charge $50 for a termite inspection. You can use this $50 towards the purchase of your treatment. Hence the inspection is free if you purchase service from us
At a VERY MINIMUM, we recommend annually. In some cases, we recommend shorter intervals.
We offer two forms of termite treatments.

If you have an active infestation, we recommend that you get liquid treatment.

If you are looking for preventative measures, we recommend that you use bait stations.

There are other factors such as how long you plan to reside at your home that also are important factors in determining what termite treatment option you should pursue.

Our honest and friendly inspector will review these for you and come up with a customized solution that makes sense for your situation.
