Home Bed Bug Removal

Bed bugs are among the most difficult and most persistent pests in the pest industry.  Elimination of these pests normally requires between 3 and 5 bedbug treatment visits and a variety of processes to solve the problem.

Did you Know?
Bed bugs survive on blood and can survive for up to 18 months without a meal

Many people assume that they can just get rid of the mattress and the problem will be solved.

However, bedbugs are more skilled at survival than many realize.  Once in your mattress, they are likely in your carpets, your clothing, your draperies, and in any other fibrous materials in which they can hide.

Tossing your old mattress and buying a new one is a sure way to infest your new mattress with more breeding bedbugs.  Instead, bedbug removal requires a several step process.

How to Eliminate Bed Bugs

1.   A special bed bug encasement is placed around your mattress trapping bedbugs so that they cannot emerge to feed.  The encasement is the single most effective bed bug killer when used in combination with treatment.

2.   Wash and dry all clothing and draperies in hot temperatures to kill any bedbugs living and breeding in your fabrics

3.   Specialized bedbug exterminators treat your home with sprays and solutions.  This normally requires several visits from a bed bug control specialist.

4.   The bed bug encasement remains on the mattress for at least 18 months to ensure that those inside do not reemerge and repopulate.

Finding Bed Bug Exterminators

Not all pest control operators are bedbug exterminators.

Because cases have been so rare for so long, many pest control specialists simply do not have the experience to effectively counter bedbugs. When searching for bedbug exterminators, it is essential that you choose one that specializes in bedbug removal.

By far, the most important part of the bed bug removal process is the bedbug mattress encasement.  Without this encasement, it is nearly impossible to treat the problem.

At Triangle Pest Control, we will not take on bedbug control jobs unless the client has purchased a bedbug mattress encasement.  We do this simply because the bedbug encasement is the single most critical piece of the bedbug removal process.

Those that do not live in the Raleigh area can purchase one of these specialized bedbug mattress encasements to begin the bed bug treatment process.  Next wash all of your clothing and linens in hot water and call in a bed bug exterminator to treatment your home.
