Donnie was a United States Air Force Reserve pilot, a software developer for a Fortune 500 company, a husband and a father when he decided to take a leap of faith, follow his passion for entrepreneurship, and start his own pest control company. Within just a few short years, Donnie grew Triangle Pest Control into a multimillion dollar company, making him one of the most respected business owners in the industry. But, he didn’t stop there. In 2013, after his success with Triangle Pest Control, he was ready for a new challenge with Coalmarch Productions.
The Whole Story
Donnie came to Coalmarch Productions needing a new website and a fresh take on the TPC brand. Donnie had worked with several digital agencies while building Triangle Pest. He struggled finding a true partner who was interested in helping him grow and he struggled finding one that could keep up with his growth. After working with Coalmarch for a few years, he realized they had something special. He also realized that the industry could use an agency like Coalmarch. In 2013, he acquired Coalmarch and they pivoted from a digital agency serving 15+ industries to one focused on home services. Passion for Development
Over the years, Donnie had been to numerous conferences, talked to a variety of different mentors, and received amazing advice that helped him grow his businesses. Because of these experiences, he became incredibly passionate about helping other companies succeed. He regularly gets emails asking how he tackled different problems and how he continues to grow. Instead of replying to each email individually, he decided to go bigger and write a book.
In 2016, he released his first book, Grow! How to rapidly and profitably grow your service company online. The proof is in the pudding. Donnie gives you a step-by-step system on how to grow your company online, and why – especially service companies – need to take advantage of inbound marketing.
In 2017, Donnie was ready to write another book. He knew that one of the most important things about running a company is the team that’s behind it. His second book, Build: How to create a phenomenal team for your service company, explains how to do it. In this book, he explains all the systems you need in place to recruit, hire, train, and maintain the best service team.
In Donnie’s book, Grow, he talks about how much he learned from the conferences he went to and what a great opportunity it is to learn. A lot of industry conferences are focused on products and treatment and they miss the mark on the most important thing, how to grow your business. In 2016, Coalmarch started hosting an annual conference, CO2, focused on what matters most: your growth and your team. People in the home service industry come from all over the country to talk about their experiences and offer advice, business owner to business owner.
